Should i get the 2000D or the R50?

I've been taking pictures for about 6 months on my phone and I'm thinking of upgrading to a proper camera. I will most likely use it for street and landscape photography. I'm basically stuck between the EOS 2000D and R50, which one is better and if I were to get an extra lens with the kit lens what should it be? Will either be good for videos?

If you're starting over and are considering between the 2000D and R50, there's no comparison. 7-Year-old camera versus 2-year-old camera. About the only two things these cameras share is the number of megapixels they can capture. Then the R50 accelerates away at tremendous speed.

In the long run the R50 would be a far better investment.

If video is important to you, you may want to look at the R50v. Only because it has better video codecs and Clog3. The R50 is geared towards photography. The R50v is video centric.

I would like to echo my colleague Rick's suggestion above. Not only are the ages of the cameras different, with the newer camera having the newer technology, but you are comparing a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera to a mirrorless camera. I believe you will love the mirrorless camera experience compared to DSLR. I certainly do. What you see on your screen or viewfinder is much more exactly what you are going to see in your photo or video with a mirrorless camera.
