This is the camera I am thinking of comes with RF 24-240mm IS USM

or about 12% more in price the lens is a RF 24-105mm F/4L USM

I would like to do Macro shots always love how something like a matchbox car looks life size

seeing a baby afield on a rose petal

A bird nest 18 feet up in a tree, taken from 100 feet away

portrait, landscape and night sky, would be so wonderful to spot a plant and capture it

vbloging also

questions

Lens in order of amateur to professional or do I have that all wrong?

IS STM USM L notice these on lens specs

what set if lenses should be my goal to get over time?? Based on what I would like

is the light meter in the camera or lens?

memory cards is there a value (read/write speed) I shouldn’t touch

like many there will be things I don’t know to ask

Hate to think I made a bad choice

This would be a camera I would spend next 20 years with, for an 18 year old this is for ever, at my age time will disappear quickly

thank-you all for your thoughts

hopefully my post helps someone else

There is NO kit with the RF 24-240mm & R6 Mark II. There is an RF 24-105mm F/4-7.1 IS STM & RF 24-105mm F/4L IS USM kit available with the R6 Mark II. IS (Image Stabilization) can be in any lens. USM & STM are different types of AF motors. L is a professional grade lens. The light meter is in the camera not the lens. Look into UHS-II SD Cards. Macro works needs a Macro lens as a regular lens can't focus down to 1:1 which is what a Macro lens is.

Greetings,

Demetrius is spot on.

-Go with the RF24-105 f4. Its a better lens worth the 12%.

-Neither lens will do a nest well at 100ft away.

-The RF100 f2.8 is probably the best macro lens available

-Light gathering is performed in the camera, but choosing the right lens for your shooting conditions can help.

-Lenses are the real investment in photography. Buy "L"'s if you can afford them, "Now and in time". You won't regret it.

-Don't plan on keeping the camera (any camera) for 20 yrs. 🤣

-The R6 mkII is a great FF camera.

You wrote, "I would like to do Macro shots always love how something like a matchbox car looks life size."

You might want to do a little reading on Toy Photography. It's a genre all to itself, and reading some articles might give some ideas of what others in the field are using.
