EOS R50 lens advice: EF or RF 24-70mm lens? Or something else?

I would like to get 24-70 rf 2.8 lens but it’s quite expensive for me Would ef 24-70 with rf mount work good or sigma lens would be better i can buy used one Or can u recommend me something else that won’t suck dry my credit card intrested to do photos in the night and day with this lens

Yes EF lenses work pretty well, probably better on an R body but you will need to adapt the lenses. The best performance will be to use the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R which I believe goes for around $149.99 these days.

Be aware that you may not be able to use the higher body burst rates when mounting an EF lens on an R body.

The lens you have is always better than the lens you wished you had. Get the one that you can comfortably afford.

If you would like more specific lens recommendations tell us more about the photography and subjects you shoot most. Both Canon and Sigma make some great lenses for the R50.

jonsukben, to Ricks point, are you going to be shooting low light or indoors where you will need a f2.8 lens. If you are than the f2.8 might be required, if not you may want to take a look at the Sigma CONTEMPORARY 16-300mm F3.5-6.7 DC OS @ $770. I've been keeping my eye on the reviews and many like the lens.

One of our members diegs_d_xplorer is shooting the R50 with this lens. While he said he is still get used to it he likes the performance but mentions it's lack of low light capabilities. Below is a link to his post.
