Hello everyone! I have a new canon Eos R50 coming in 2 days and I got it with the kit lens ( RF-S18-45mm) and I am beginning to think I should’ve got just the body what from Ive seen. I do photography on the side but I’m trying to get more serious. I’ve never really researched tech before since I just took an older Nikon from my dad. But I’m looking to buy another lense and I was looking at the 50mm and the rf75-300mm. What do you guys recommend? main goal is to be able to do close up portraits and then be able to capture big families TIA!

Good morning ,

Thanks for sharing some of your photography interests with us. Can you also share your budget?

As of this writing, Sigma has some great APS-C compatible lenses. These lenses are licensed by Canon for Sigma. Many of them are on sale for Black Friday. This is a great time to buy a lens.
