Greetings,

The preferred method would be to uninstall, restart, then reinstall the MF Utilities and ScanGear applications.

In your case, installing over the top should resolve the issue.  Close both applications before you start.  I'd also close the "Canon MF Scanner Selector" running in the system tray.  Right-click, select exit.

Download and run this first:

Then download and run this:

These are Canon downloads from the MF743Cdw Support portal.

Greetings,

Lets gather some additional information.  Is this a new printer?  Did it work previously? Could this be the result of a power failure, surge, etc?

Can you provide history for the device?

Do you have any 3rd party anti-virus programs installed besides windows security?

I would suggest following my previous suggestion since installing over the top didn't help.

Uninstall all canon applications, driver and utilities.  Restart the machine and reinstall.
