Did you mean:

Printer not responding

jadecas

I have the Canon Pixma MX340 which has been giving me errors the past few days. I had this issue on friday but I resolved it by reinstalling the printer but was out of black ink. So i bought new ink, test pages work fine for the printer itself but when I tried to print from my pc this morning it keeps saying "printer not responding". I have tried reinstalling, updating drivers. porting, reconnecting the printer to wifi, restarting my computer, tried to print on another computer, cleaned and restarted the printer spool, etc and nothing is working. I have a shioping label to print so please reply asap! Thank you.

Hi jadecas,

Let's start by checking the printer's connection to the wireless network.

You can print out the network settings of the machine such as its IP address and SSID.

Important

  • This print out contains valuable information about your computer. Handle it with care.

  1. Make sure that the machine is turned on.

  2. Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Rear Tray.

  3. Press the Menu button repeatedly and select Device settings.

  4. Use the LEFTRIGHT button to select LAN settings, then press the OK button.

  5. Use the LEFTRIGHT button to select Print LAN details, then press the OK button.

Much of the information will not be relevant, but the important things to look at are:

  1. Is the connection active or inactive?

  2. Does the SSID (network name) match the one the computer uses?

  3. What is the signal strength?

  4. What is the IPv4 IP address?

I look forward to your reply.
