MG5422 won't print

I have had a  MG5422 for about a month now, and it was working properly. As off today, as I attempted to print some documents with Adobe Illustrator, first the settings were automatically changed to Off line, once changed back to the on line printing, I keep getting a message that the printer is not responding. I've been using an USB connection, and I haven't changed anything since my last printing assignment about 2 weeks ago. I also checked all connections, uninstalled and installed the printer, but nothing seems to work... Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi frustrated_user,

 

So we can better assist you, please reply with what operating system is on your computer.  Also, do you happen to have another USB cable you can use to connect the printer to your computer?
