So I've been using this printer and haven't had problems wit it until now, and now it won't print or scan. I went ahead and disconnected it and unregistered it from my list of printers, and reconnected everything, and now its giving me a code that it isn't connected to the computer, and the computer doesn't recognise it either

Disconnect the printer from the computer. Uninstall the software. Either remove all Canon related folders and programs from the applications folder (Mac)... or uninstall using Programs and Features in Windows
Restart the computer. Connect the printer's USB cable and power on the printer.
Follow the instructions for installation.
