Is the battery fully charged? Does the screen turn on?  What camera are you talking about?

I am having the same problem with my PowerShot A2200. The battery is fully charged, but my lens will not open, displaying "lens error".

Nothing is blocking the lens - and I had no problems leading up to this. Camera hasn't been dropped either.

Camera will display typical "warm up" Canon screen, but nothing else - other than stating Lens Error - will restart automatically.

Camera is 13 months old. Perfect until now!

HELP!

Please remove the battery or batteries from the camera for a few moments, then try again.  If the lens still does not extend and an error is displayed, the camera will require service.
