My Canon Powershot A1300 LCD display is permanently white and the camera does not take pictures any more. Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this please?
This happened suddenly. I took a picture with flash, which worked OK, then tried a second picture almost immediately and the display had gone white.
If I press DISP to switch between LCD and viewfinder, the screen will switch between black and white and sometimes spontaneously switches off too - but still won't take pictures.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Probably a bad sensor. I think it's time for a new camera.

Thanks for the quick reply. I feared that might be the case.
... but if anyone can suggest a happier ending, that would be great.

If new batteries doesn't recover it, then it is surely toast.

I tried the batteries (that is about the limit of my technical skills). I guess it is toast then. Sad.

Contact Canon U.S. Support for the best advice. They're more familiar with the gear than we are. Good Luck.
