Powershot SX620 HS Wifi - Error Detected When Trying to connect

Title says it all. It finds the WIFI address, let's me enter my email address and a pin number, and then says "Error detected". 

If I can't upload pictures to a google drive from the camera, it is worthless to me. Any ideas?

Canon support refuses to help claiming this product is too old. Very unfair!
