I can't get my iMac running 10.10.3 to scan using my Pixma MG5420.

When I try to scan, I get the message that the driver is not present and I should reinstall the software and try again.  I have downloaded and installed the driver several times but I still get the same message.  What am I doing wrong?  I've never had trouble scanning before.

Thanks, I was able to scan with ImageCapture.  Wish I knew what was wrong with the Utility.  I appreciate your help.

Are you using ImageCapture or the IJ Scan Utility? When you downloaded drivers from the web, did you install the ICA driver or the MG5400 series Scanner driver?

I'm using IJ Scan Utility and I've downloaded all the drivers ICA and MG5420 and installed them all.

Have you tried scanning using ImageCapture? I know there have been some weird scanning issues with Yosemite but it seems to work better with their proprietary software. May also be worth repairing disk permissions and rebooting.
