Printer will not print MP210 Do you need both cartridges?

Just replaced the B&W cartridge on my Cannon MP210 printer  Color cartridge is also out of ink however I do not need color documents.  Do I need to replace color to print only black and white?

Hello Yoder728.

Both the black and color cartridges would have to be installed in order for the printer to function.  If one of the cartridges is not installed or is empty, you would have to replace the cartridge before printing can resume.
