I have an older Canon EOS-1D Mark II. I bought it used about 12 years ago.

I cannot find my paperwork and my battery is dead.

What kind of battery is it? make/model name/number?

Where can I find one?

Well according to Google it's an NP-E3 and you can get one from Amazon.

Your dead battery should have all the information you need.

I replaced the original a few years back and the generic I bought did not fit my charger well, always slipped out, which was why I was looking for the ORIGINAL information

 

I still use 2 bodies that use that battery. If you intend to use it for a while the Canon brand battery is a better buy than an aftermarket replacement. I think I paid about $125 for one a year ago at B&H.

I heard Adorama has them and for a great price.  Real Canon brand.

I second getting the Canon brand.  I still have a 1D Mark ii and I bought one of the aftermarket batteries from Amazon (and it had good reviews) but shooting at a high frame rate would result in the camera locking up.  A real Canon battery cured that issue.
