What is a good setting for the picture style sharpness in standard mode (default is 4)?

I don't know, how about 4?  It is the default.  Are your pictures not sharp enough?  Post processing sharpness is a personal preference, if it's not enough for you, turn it up (keep in mind you can't go back).  Too much, back it off (can always do more in post).  Nobody can tell you which number you should use.  Sorry.

Keep in mind this is just post processing sharpness. Basically it just adds dark and light accents to the edges of high contrast areas to increase the effect of sharpness.  A little bit looks good, but too much looks quite bad, IMHO.  The in-camera sharpness is not a substitute for getting sharp, in-focus shots.  And you can’t correct an out-of-focus shot with this function.

Also keep in mind that if you're shooting RAW that those settings aren't applied in most post processing software.  It's one of the nice things about RAW, you can choose exactly how much or how little you want after you see it on a monitor.
